I made the most delicious salad last night. If you have not tried Holiday Grapes (from Columbine Vineyards), please run out and get some, they are currently on sale at Raleys. They are huge, crisp, sweet, and seedless.

In a large chilled bowl
Add 1 bunch of crisp, green kale torn into bite sized pieces. Cover with a damp paper towel and set in the fridge.
In a small skillet toast 1/2 cup of walnut pieces, just until they start to smell nutty, watch carefully as not to burn them.
In a small bowl, cut in half a nice bunch of holiday grapes, about 30 grapes.
Add 2 tablespoons of walnut oil, you can use extra virgin olive oil if you don’t have walnut.
Add 1 tablespoon of good balsamic vinegar, and a pinch of crunchy sel Gris** or flaked sea salt
When ready to serve, add the toasted walnuts, and the grape mixture to the bowl of kale, toss well…I mean really massage the vinegarette into the kale. Top with fresh cracked black pepper.
**Sel Gris is French grey sea salt and is available in my herbs & spice shop
